Iran, Luxemburg stress banking cooperation

TEHRAN, Nov. 28 (MNA) – The governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) and Luxembourg’s foreign minister have stressed the need to launch banking cooperation between the two countries.

CBI Governor Valiollah Seif met and talked with the Visiting Luxembourg Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn on Wednesday in Tehran and referred to Iranian bankers’ interest in bilateral cooperation; “we are ready to collaborate with Luxembourg in various banking areas including management of reserves, gold trading, short and long-term activities in financial markets or credits,” he stressed.

Seif further expressed willingness for the Iranian banking community to take advantage to Luxembourg’s consulting and training services in the banking system.

Jean Asselborn, for his part, maintained that exchange of banking delegations between the two countries will lead to the improvement of economic relations.

At the end of his remarks, Asselborn urged the two sides to cooperate more effectively by providing the grounds for Iranian and Luxembourger bankers to hold joint meetings.
